Danish steel works multiplies employment by five

The electro steel works in Frederiksværk, 30 miles North of Copenhagen, with 150 employees is to recruit 650 new employees over the next three years, states Torben Munch, technical director of the steel works, to Frederiksborg Amts Avis.
The steel works is to expand production and double the amount of produced steel bludgeons from a half to a million tonnes a year. Furthermore, a completely new product, namely half a million thin plates which will be put on the market by 2011. All in all, a five-fold increase in production.
According to the Director the steel works signed several contracts this week on the extension of the work for a total amount that may be “the largest private investment in the history of Denmark".
The electro steel works in Frederiksværk, which melt scrap into steel, is the only of its kind in Denmark. It was purchased in 2007 by the Ukrainian millionaire Konstantin Zhevago, incorporating the works in the steel giant Vorskla Steel.
