03-07-2008
Economy:
There is a great demand for the Danish companies’ shares among investors from the international market places, writes Berlingske Business.
And especially larger Danish business groups such as Vestas, Carlsberg, Novo Nordisk and Lundbeck are on top of the foreign stockbuyers’ want lists.
New figures from The National Bank of Denmark and Statistics Denmark show that in May 2008 foreign investors controlled 32.75 per cent of the shares in Danish quoted companies corresponding to more than EUR 58 billion.
This is an increase of 5 per cent since January 2007 and it emphazises that the international investors lately have become aware of the Danish companies for real, says senior analyst in Sydbank Jacob Pedersen.
“Moreover, Danish companies operate in a global world and this is reflected in the group of investors. There is no doubt that the Danish companies have become very much aware of aiming at foreign investors and putting ressources into the matter,” he says.
